This meeting is for all current 8th grade students as well as their Parents/Guardianís.
The meeting will take place at FHS on Feb 4th from 6:30-8:00 in the FHS Library. Come meet the principal, several academic department heads as well as your FHS guidance counselors. Learn about FHS and the transition from 8th grade to high school. You can go to the high school website for information on this meeting.
PTC MEETING
The next PTC meeting will be Monday February 8th at 6:30pm. RSU No. 5 Superintendent, Dr. Shannon Welch, will be giving an update on the budget for the remainder of school year 2009/10 and discussing the 2010/2011 budget process.
COASTAL HUMANE SOCIETY DRIVE
The Coastal Humane Society Drive was a HUGE success. Over 1,000 items were donated (valued at over $2,000) and delivered to the shelter this past weekend.~ It took a total effort by ALL the schools to make this happen.~ My thanks to the students, teachers and Administrators of RSU5 and West Bath and also the Mast Landing Student Council for your support and generosity!~ On behalf of the animals you helped, THANK YOU! Thank you very much, Shane Crean.
GIVING CHILDREN WARMTH
Giving Children Warmth is collecting wool squares again this year. Any squares that are donated to GCW will be sewn together into blankets; which will then be shipped off to the children of Afghanistan. If anyone is interested in knitting, crocheting, etc. squares there is a box in the main office for the donations. Squares need to be 100% wool, and should be close to 8"x8" in size. (We would also appreciate any donations of wool yarn.) Thanks to all those who helped out last year! And thanks to those that will help us this year. We will be collecting items from December 2009 to April 2010.~ If you have any questions feel free to email me, Charlie Lehmer, at lehmerc@gmail.com or call me at (207) 865-0331.
SITTING PRETTY CHAIRITY
For those painting chairs for the Sitting Pretty Chairity. Remember the deadline for finished chairs is March 1st. Completed chairs can be taken to Pat Eatonís house at 16 Estuary Point.~ To find it proceed on~Bow Street, past lower mast landing Rd, over bridge.~ The driveway is the first one after the big yellow house on the right.~ Go up the driveway.~ Patís house is the first one on the right.~ Chairs can be placed in the garage.~ If you want to call her in advance, her ph. # is 865-0834.~
Also if you can take a picture of your chair and email it to us we can send it around; it adds to the excitement! See Ms. Gosselin for questions.
